Dr. Marc W. Hentz (Chairman
of
the
Board): Dr. Hentz joined Biopolis Consultants
as a Partner in 2002. Prior to Biopolis, Dr. Hentz gained industrial
experience at A.T. Kearny Management Consulting, Düsseldorf and
the Industrial Investment Council GmbH, Berlin, a strategic advisory
organization that facilitates direct investment in the new German
states. There he gained significant expertise in investment consulting,
site marketing and location services for international investors in the
biotech, pharma, medical device and chemicals sectors. Dr. Hentz
received his Ph.D. in cell biology/molecular biology in 1998, after
studying chemistry at Hamburg University and the University of
California at San Diego.

Dr. Bettina Schrick (Board
Member): Dr. Schrick joined TechnoStart in 2003 and is an
investment manager in charge of biotech, new materials and chemistry
portfolio companies. Prior to TechnoStart, Dr. Schrick led research as
a postdoctoral scientist on nanomaterials at the
Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, lived and studied in the USA
for 10 years, where she graduated with a Ph.D. in chemistry from the
Pennsylvania State University in 2002, and a Bachelor in chemistry from
the Rutgers University in New Jersey in 1996. She gained industrial
experience as an analytical chemist at Dragoco (now Symrise AG) from
1996-1997.

Evert Kueppers (Board
Member):
Mr. Kueppers is CEO of Swiss vaccine player Pevion Biotech AG. Previously, he was CEO of Munich-based Pieris AG, that he successfully restructured and refinanced, and Head of Business Development at IDEA AG for which he negotiated the largest German licensing deal in 2003 with Johnson & Johnson. Before joining the biotech industry, Mr. Kueppers worked four years for BASF Pharma (now Abbott Laboratories) in International Operations (both at its German headquarters and Argentine subsidiary) and was a management consultant with the global pharmaceutical / health care team of AT Kearney in London, UK. Mr. Kueppers holds an M.S. degree in Biomedical Sciences from Leiden University, The Netherlands, and an MBA from RSM/Erasmus University, The Netherlands.
