Siena Biotech commissions Cenix BioScience to carry out HT-RNAi discovery project on neurodegenerative disease.

Dresden, Germany, 30 January, 2007  -  Cenix BioScience GmbH (Dresden), the leading specialist in advanced RNA interference (RNAi)-based research services, today announced that it has signed and initiated a contract research project with Siena Biotech S.p.A., an innovative drug discovery company focused on diseases of the central nervous system.
Cenix will apply its expertise in combining high throughput screening using RNAi gene silencing technology with high content, microscopy-based phenotypic analyses in cultured human cells. The company will adapt and optimize assays and cell models developed by Siena Biotech to carry out a genome-scale screen for the discovery and validation of novel therapeutic drug targets for the treatment of an unspecified neurodegenerative disease.
