Cenix BioScience joins NANOTOME consortium,
securing grant support from German Federal Ministry of Education and
Research (BMBF).
Dresden, Germany, November 5, 2007
- Cenix BioScience GmbH today announced that it has joined the
German NANOTOME consortium to participate in its project entitled "A
platform for the application of laser and multi-photon microscopy for
RNAi experimentation" with support from a German Federal Ministry of
Education and Research (BMBF) research grant.
The consortium is led by
Hannover based Rowiak GmbH, and also includes LaVision BioTec GmbH
(Bielefeld), mfd Diagnostics GmbH (Wendelsheim), co.don AG (Teltow),
iba Institute for Bioprocessing and Analytical Measurement Techniques
(Heiligenstadt), LZH Laser Center (Hannover), as well as the Institute
of Biophysics, and the Institute of Quantum Optics of the Leibniz
University of Hannover, Germany. The 3-year grant, which includes
233,000 Euro funding for Cenix, will support the development of
advanced laser-based experimentation in cultured human cells, including
transient permeabilization of cells to introduce RNAi-inducing agents,
and diverse other intra-cellular manipulations. Cenix will integrate
the newly developed capabilities within its leading range of advanced
RNAi research services for target discovery, target
validation and drug mode of action analyses.
